Spinning is a high-intensity cardio workout on a stationary bike conducted in a group under the guidance of an instructor. By simulating cycling at varying intensities (flat terrain, hills, sprints), it trains the lower body, improves cardiovascular endurance and tones the body without gaining muscle mass. For work on the upper body, dumbbells, small/large resistance bands, plates and others are often included. Key features of the spinning workout: - Structure: starts with warm-up, moves through a main part with varying load (speed and resistance) and ends with relaxation/stretching. - Intensity: can be adapted for beginners as well as advanced, with heart rate maintained within 60-90% of maximum. - Benefits: effectively burns fat, protects joints, increases endurance and tones the muscles of the legs, buttocks and abdomen. - Atmosphere: conducted with energetic music and often with special lighting for higher motivation.
