Spinning is a high-intensity cardio workout on a stationary bike, conducted in a group under the guidance of an instructor. By simulating cycling with varying intensity (flat terrain, hills, sprints), it trains the lower body, improves cardio endurance and tightens the body without gaining muscle mass. For work and for the upper body, dumbbells, small/large resistance bands, discs and more are often included. Main features of the spinning workout: - Structure - starts with a warm-up, goes through a main part with varying load (speed and resistance) and ends with relaxation/stretching. - Intensity - can be adapted for beginners as well as for advanced, keeping a pulse in the range of 60-90% of maximum. - Benefits - effectively burns fat, protects joints, increases endurance and tones the muscles of the legs, buttocks and abdomen. - Atmosphere - performed with energetic music and often with special lighting for higher motivation.
